BRONZE for Lucas Henveaux at the World 25m swimming championships in Budapest

Lucas Henveaux writes history!

At the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest on Sunday 15 December 2024, Lucas Henveaux (LGN) swam a new Belgian record on the 200m freestyle in 1.41.13 (previous record from in the morning's series swum in 1.41.58) AND takes home a bronze medal in the process!

After Stefaan Maene (OLY) in 1993 on the 200m backstroke (Palma de Mallorca) and Fanny Lecluyse (OLY) in 2018 on the 200m breaststroke (Hangzhou), it is only the 3rd time in history for Belgium to achieve a 3rd place at a World Short Course Swimming Championships!

Lucas swam another very strong 4th place in the 400m freestyle last week in a new Belgian record of 3.36.71!

We knew Lucas had this in his grasp & are very proud of him for actually achieving it!
Congratulations LUCAS!
