EJC Gold & Bronze for Simon Laviolette

At the European Junior Swimming Championships in Munich (7–12 July 2026), Simon Laviolette won both a gold and a bronze medal.

In the 200m individual medley, Simon set a new personal best in the final (having already set a personal best in the semi-finals), clocking 2:00.37, just over the magic 2-minute mark. This secured him a fine third place.

In the 400m individual medley, Simon swam a superb race in the final and, with a new personal best of 4:18.69, secured a gold medal in impressive style, and can now call himself European Junior Champion.
Congratulations to Simon and his team.

Also worthy of mention are the performances of the relay teams at this European Junior Championships, namely the boys’ 4x200m freestyle relay, which finished 8th, and the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay, which secured a fine 5th place in Europe!

Siri Vanderlinden rounded off the day by swimming to a fine 7th place in the final of the 400m freestyle.

Congratulations to the entire Belswim team.
