Report performance European swimming Masters short course 2023 Madeira

From Sunday 19 November 2023 to Saturday 25 November 2023, the European Swimming Championships SHORT COURSE for Masters, organised by European Aquatics, took place for the first time.

Belgium was represented by seven athletes in the indoor pool: 

David Witteboon (MZVA), Steven Claes (ZCT), Thierry Schurmans (CNSW), Soetkin Janssens (ZORO), Davy Aerts (SHARK), Andre Joos (MZVA), and Eric Richelle (PLOUF)

This group achieved great performances in Madeira! A total of 13 medals were taken home and several Belgian records were swum.

Gold medals for 3 x Soetkin & 3 x Andre!

Silver medals for 2x Eric, 1x Andre, 1x Steven! 

Bronze medals for 2 x Eric, 1 x David!

In the open water event (3K) three Belgians competed, Steven Claes - David Witteboon - Thierry Schurmans.

In this event too, 1 medal was won, Steven took gold in his category! 

We look forward to 2024 and wish all Masters a happy end of year!
