Structure & Organisation Chart of the RBSF
In Belgium, the organisation of sport, including swimming, is primarily the responsibility of the regional authorities. For swimming, the Royal Belgian Swimming Federation (FRBN/KBZB/RBSF) is the national representative body. It acts as the official point of contact with national and international bodies, such as World & European Aquatics and the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (COIB). This representation is carried out by the Secretary General of the FRBN/KBZB/RBSF.
The operational organisation and development of swimming are managed at regional level by the two community federations, namely the Francophone Belgian Swimming Federation (FFBN) and the Vlaamse Zwemfederatie (VZF). These federations have their own governance structures and employ the necessary staff to manage sporting activities, support for clubs, training, competitions and the development of athletes of all levels within their respective territories.
The two regional federations are also responsible for the sporting preparation and coaching of Belgian athletes taking part in international championships. Each has its own technical and sporting support staff to ensure the support, monitoring and performance of its swimmers at international competitions, whilst representing Belgium.
