Two new national water polo coordinators
Appointment of Maarten De Bolster and Lieven Lemmens
The FRBN Water-Polo Sports Commission is pleased to announce that Maarten De Bolster and Lieven Lemmens will take up the positions of Technical Manager and Team Manager respectively within Team Belgium Water-Polo.
With the support of the Sporting Commission, Maarten and Lieven will work on the following objectives:
1. To set up a structure for the development of national water polo teams, both men's and women's and youth. This structure should lay the foundations for future sporting success.
2. The development of a multi-annual plan for our national teams, with a first phase focusing on the senior men's and women's teams, the two pillars of our sport. In a second phase, we will work on the national youth teams.
In recent weeks, Maarten has been in contact with the men's and women's coaches for an evaluation and motivation. From this, decisions will be made for the future plan. The sports plan is being developed as well as a budget plan for the coming years. Potential coaches have been contacted for a further interview. We will then see how to divide the roles within the technical staff.
Once the Team Belgium Water polo project is ready, the Sports Commission will organise an information session to explain the plan and answer your questions. This will clarify the plan for the national teams for everyone involved and ensure the continued development of our Belgian water polo talent in the future.
In the meantime, we wish Maarten and Lieven much success in their new sporting challenge!
